Sharon A. Crawford’s Beyond Faith appearances

12 Apr

I have a sequence of events where I am appearing with two of my Beyond mystery series in the next few weeks. One on my own and others with other criminal (I mean “crime”) writers. Fortunately, the snafu with Indigo and its chain of bookstores having problems ordering in Beyond Faith for the actual stores, seems to have been fixed by the distributor, Ingram Sparks. Let’s hope it stays fixed. The store  managers and I were perplexed and frustrated by the problem.

Here is the  first event.

We will not be reading from our books. Instead we will be doing mini-presentations about our latest books. In my case, will my nosey main character PI Dana Bowman show up? I am trying to contain her between the book covers of Beyond Faith. But who knows what that wily PI will come up with?

And what are the other authors going to do?

Maureen Jennings (Murdock Mysteries) will be announcing the short list for each category for this year’s Arthur Ellis Awards. We (and others present) will be listening with the proverbial bated breaths.

So, if you are in the area in the GTA or actually in Toronto, please drop by for an interesting evening. And it’s all free.

Meantime, you can click on the Beyond Faith book cover at the top for more info about it.

Cheers.

    Hi Sharon;

Good luck this weekend. I’m glad to see you are on the short list. It would be very good to meet Maureen Jennings, as I’m a fan of Murdock Mysteries. My own Poetry Writing project is slow, but underway. I have about 25 to enter into my Computer file!! I was in T.O. for my Uncle’s funeral on March 5th and Carol’s partner was admitted to Palliative Care the next day. He passed away on March16th, but I didn’t return as it was in Weston. I’ll be back for my niece’s wedding on May 5th. Lots of train travel this year, as I will be then going for my retreat to Cobourg in June.

Tomorrow, we start a pre- Chapter meeting for 2 days which actually is the first part of a divided Chapter which also has a Fall Gathering in September and the actual Chapter in the Spring 2019. Interesting Times!!

I’ll be anxious to hear how the awards event turns out. I hope Dana Bowman does show up!!

    Good Luck!

    Catherine

Hey Catherine. Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about all the deaths in your family.

Hope we can meet up or at least talk on the phone when you are in Toronto one one of your visits here. May 5 while you’re at your niece’s wedding, I’m doing a book signing at Coles in the Beaches area on Queen St. E. But that’s it for that day.

Thanks for the kind words about the short list, but as far as I know I’m not on it. You aren’t the first one who misread the flyer. The wording is deceiving. I didn’t design it. The 10 of us authors listed are doing mini-presentations about our books. Dana Bowman plans to be there in one way or another if she has any say. Maureen Jennings will be announcing the authors shortlisted in the different categories for the Arthur Ellis Awards. Right now only the judges know who they are.

Yes, will need a miracle with that awful weather this weekend – heavy rain could get water in my basement and freezing rain could cause power outages. Terrified here. But preparing as best as I can.

Cobourg, eh? My publisher lives there – Sarah Jacob – she is also a lawyer there and her husband Shane Joseph – also a literary fiction writer. Know a few other people who have moved to Cobourg, including folksinger and editor Marie-Lynn Hammond. Cobourg is in a very big literary area.

Good luck with your poetry book.

    Cheers.

    Sharon
